Venues pay a standard commission on bookings, to travel agents, to event planners, to anyone who brings them business. That commission exists whether or not you use CVBS.

When you book through us, the venue pays that commission to CVBS instead of keeping it. You pay the venue's rate, usually a better rate than you would get on your own, because we negotiate it. Our sourcing, negotiating and management come at no charge to you. The venue fills the room. Everyone is better off.

Why this keeps us honest

Because commissions are broadly similar across properties, we gain nothing by steering you toward one venue over another. The only thing that grows our business is getting your event right so you come back. That aligns us with you, not with any single hotel.

Straight answers

If it's free, what's the catch?

There isn't one. Venues pay a commission on bookings whether they come through an agent or not. When you book through CVBS, that commission comes to us, so you get expert sourcing and negotiation at no extra cost, and the venue fills a room it wanted to fill.

Won't you just push the venue that pays you most?

No. Commissions are broadly similar across venues, so we have no incentive to favour one over another. Our reputation, and our repeat clients, depend on recommending what genuinely fits your brief.

Could I get a better rate booking direct?

Rarely. Our negotiated rates and inclusions usually beat public pricing, and you avoid the time cost of doing it yourself. If booking direct were better for you, we'd tell you.

Who pays the venue sourcing company?

The venue does. Venues allow a standard commission on bookings, and when a booking comes through CVBS that commission comes to us rather than staying with the property. It does not change the rate you pay, and you are never invoiced by us.
