The former Hilton Brisbane on Elizabeth Street, rebranded to InterContinental in July 2025, with an atrium running the height of the building. A 794 square metre ballroom and about 2,500 square metres of event space over three floors. The level eight pool terrace is the room people remember.

Accommodation
IHG does not publish a guest room count for this hotel on either its meetings page or its hotel detail page, which is unusual after a rebrand. For a residential program the count and the rate bands both have to come from the hotel.

Recent changes
It is the former Hilton Brisbane. Same building, 190 Elizabeth Street, rebranded to InterContinental and opened under the new flag in July 2025. Any capacity figure found in older material is pre rebrand and may also predate the refurbishment.
IHG publishes guest numbers without naming a setup. The Grand Ballroom appears as "794 SQM, 1000 GUESTS, LEVEL 5". There are no theatre, banquet, cocktail or classroom columns anywhere in IHG’s own material for this hotel. We publish the areas and leave the setup columns empty rather than guess which layout the guest figure describes.
IHG’s own two pages count the spaces differently. The hotel detail page says nineteen versatile meeting and event spaces. The meetings page enumerates fifteen dedicated function rooms. We publish fifteen, because it is the number the room list supports.

Questions organisers ask
What size event can it hold?
IHG publishes the Grand Ballroom as 794 square metres and 1,000 guests, and does not say which setup that number belongs to. There is no capacity table on its own material, and no theatre, banquet, cocktail or classroom columns anywhere. So the areas below are published and the setup capacities are not.
Why is the theatre column empty then?
Because a figure with no setup attached to it cannot go in a setup column. One thousand in 794 square metres is almost certainly a cocktail number, but almost certainly is not a source, and this page exists to be right rather than complete.
Is this the old Hilton?
Yes. Same building at 190 Elizabeth Street, rebranded to InterContinental and reopened under the new flag in July 2025. Half the market still calls it the Hilton, and any capacity figure from older material predates the rebrand.
What is the room people remember?
The level eight pool terrace, 224 square metres, published at 150 guests, looking across the city. It is the reason this property gets shortlisted for dinners.
How many event spaces are there?
IHG’s meetings page enumerates fifteen dedicated function rooms and lists eleven of them. Its hotel detail page says nineteen. We publish fifteen, because that is the number its own room list supports.
