Conference & Event Venues on the Gold Coast

Gold Coast venues we have walked through.
A few of the Gold Coast venues we’ve been through ourselves. For each one you’ll find the venue’s own published capacities, the date we were there, and an honest word about what it suits and what it doesn’t.
The Gold Coast is built for the kind of event people actually look forward to. Conferences that double as an incentive, leadership offsites with room to think, and resort stays that keep a large group together in one place. The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre at Broadbeach anchors the bigger programs. We source across Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach and the hinterland, and negotiate resort and group rates that make the business case straightforward.
What we source in Gold Coast
- Convention centre space at Broadbeach for plenary and exhibition
- Beachfront and inland conference resorts for residential programs
- Integrated resort space for galas, awards and self contained conferences
- Theme park and arts venues for incentive nights and brand activations
- Delegate room blocks across Broadbeach, Surfers Paradise and Main Beach
A few Gold Coast venues, and what each one is really for.
A spread rather than a ranking, chosen so you can see the shape of the market. Every figure below is the one the venue publishes for itself. Figures checked 6 September 2026. We source right across Gold Coast, so treat this as a starting point.

A quick steer, based on what you are running. Tell us the detail and we will shortlist what suits it, rather than the obvious names.
Based on venue suitability alone.
Where in Gold Coast to hold it.
The area you choose shapes everything from how easily delegates arrive to what you will pay for dinner. These are the ones we source across most, and what each is good for.
Broadbeach
The only genuinely walkable conference precinct, and unusually tight. The convention centre sits 500 metres from the surf and is joined to The Star by a pedestrian bridge, with Sofitel and Dorsett within a short covered walk.
Surfers Paradise
Delegate volume and the widest rate spread in one strip, from JW Marriott and The Langham down to serviced apartments. On the light rail, so delegates can self transfer to Broadbeach.
Main Beach and The Spit
When the program should feel like a resort rather than a city. Sheraton Grand Mirage and Sea World Resort put the accommodation inside the venue, with a short road transfer for anything offsite.
Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island
A closed campus with no leakage. One property, 251 rooms, inside a gated marina and golf estate about half an hour north. That is a feature for retention and a cost for anything offsite.
Benowa and Carrara
A large residential conference that needs a 1,500 square metre ballroom and 333 rooms under one roof at a lower rate than the beachfront. No light rail, so evenings in Broadbeach mean coaches.
Bundall and Coomera
The offsite. HOTA for a plenary or a launch that should not look corporate, and the theme parks at Oxenford for an incentive night, roughly half an hour by coach from the beachfront.
The parts of Gold Coast we would raise before you commit.
No destination is right for every brief, and the useful conversation is about where the limits are. These are the ones that change a Gold Coast program most often.
Schoolies takes late November out of Surfers Paradise
Schoolies runs for a week in late November and is centred on Surfers Paradise. It is the single most disruptive fixture of the year for that precinct’s accommodation and street amenity, and it is worth planning around rather than discovering.
Mid January is the hardest window of the year
The Magic Millions sale at Bundall lands in the middle of January on top of peak summer holiday demand, which makes corporate rates hardest to buy across the whole coast. Early July carries the Gold Coast Marathon, which compresses accommodation for that weekend.
Air access is longer than the compactness suggests
The main airport is at Coolangatta, about half an hour from Broadbeach, and Brisbane Airport is roughly ninety minutes away. For a genuine same day fly in and out meeting we would put Brisbane in front of you instead, and say so.
On the Gold Coast the precinct decides how a board reads the program.
One brief. A real person on the other end.
Everything above this point is information. It is genuinely useful, and no other venue finder in Australia publishes it. But it is not the thing you are actually buying.
What you are buying is someone who has already had the conversation with the person who holds that room, knows what they will move on and when, and will pick up the phone rather than send you a portal login. Whoever takes your Gold Coast brief stays your point of contact from the first call through to the final invoice.

Venues we can speak for
Broadbeach reads as a conference destination and Surfers Paradise reads as a holiday, even when the rooms are similar. Choosing the precinct first, and keeping the leisure element as an opt in evening rather than the headline, is what makes a serious corporate program work here.
The drawbacks as well as the pitch
Every venue has something worth knowing before you sign. A difficult load in, a low ceiling, a pre function space that struggles once the room is full. You will hear that from us at shortlist, not on the day.
Free to you
There is no fee for our service. The sourcing, the local knowledge and the negotiating are all included, and the rate you end up with is usually better than booking direct.
