Inspected by CVBS
A 150 villa resort on Bunker Bay in the Margaret River region, two and a half hours south of Perth. One 144 sqm pillar free room seating 140 theatre, plus an outdoor amphitheatre, an ocean terrace and two smaller rooms.
What it suits
Good for
- Residential conferences and retreats to 140 where nobody leaves site
- Leadership offsites and strategy days that need to be away from a city
- Incentive and reward programs in the Margaret River region
- Gala dinners to 100 inside, or 80 on the Ocean Terrace
- Outdoor plenaries and awards in the Amphitheatre to 150
- Programs where partners and families come along
Look elsewhere for
- Plenaries above 140 in a single room
- More than two concurrent breakout streams
- Programs that need delegates in and out of Perth on the same day
- Anything needing rigging, floor load or a loading dock
- Winter programs relying on the Ocean Terrace or the Amphitheatre
The event floor
Kaartdijinup is the only room that takes a full plenary, at 144 sqm and 140 theatre, and it divides into two halves of 60 theatre each. Wardan and Karlup handle breakouts and board meetings, and the Amphitheatre and Ocean Terrace put the program outside when the weather allows.
Accommodation
Delegates stay in villas on the resort site, which is the whole argument for holding a program here. Studio through to three bedroom, with kitchens and laundries in the larger villas, so a multi night residential conference does not need anyone to leave.
If you need the beds without the ballroom, that is a normal brief and we run it on its own. See group accommodation for how a room block is held, and corporate accommodation for an ongoing rate program.

Where these figures come from, and why a dash is not a zero
A dash means the resort publishes no figure for that setup. It does not mean the room cannot be set that way, only that we will not print a number the venue has not published.
Every figure is read from the resort's own event spaces pages, checked 5 September 2026. Never estimated, never taken from a directory.
Where a venue’s own sources carry different figures, we use the current one and confirm it with the venue before it reaches a shortlist.
The building
Bigger rooms in Perth
Kaartdijinup tops out at 140 in one room, so a larger plenary belongs back in Perth. Each figure below is read from that venue’s own published material. This is not a survey of the whole Perth market, only the rooms we checked to make sure nothing on this page overstates the building.
| Pullman Bunker Bay Resort, Kaartdijinup I & II | 140 theatre, 100 banquet |
|---|---|
| Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Riverside Theatre | 2,500 theatre |
| Crown Perth, Grand Ballroom | 1,500 theatre, 1,100 banquet |
| Optus Stadium, Riverview Rooms | 1,000 theatre |
Recent changes
The restaurant now trades under its own brand. The resort’s dining room is Other Side of the Moon Kitchen & Bar, running under its own name and its own booking site. Worth knowing before a conference dinner goes into a proposal.
The Pool Bar is closed as at 5 September 2026. It runs seasonally and is due to reopen on 26 September 2026, so a program before that date is planning without it.

Questions organisers ask
What size conference can it hold?
Kaartdijinup I and II together seat 140 theatre, 100 for a banquet, 80 cabaret, 32 classroom, 50 u-shape and 180 for a cocktail reception, across 144 square metres. It divides into two halves of 60 theatre each.
How many event spaces are there?
Seven named spaces, including the outdoor Amphitheatre at 150 theatre and the Ocean Terrace at 120 cocktail. Three are indoor meeting rooms: Kaartdijinup, Wardan and Karlup.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, 150 villas from studio to three bedroom, on the resort site. Studios are 45 square metres, one bedroom villas 81, two bedroom 82 and three bedroom 120, sleeping up to seven.
How far is it from Perth?
The resort is at Naturaliste in the Margaret River region, roughly two and a half hours by road south of Perth. That is the point of it for a residential program, and the reason it does not suit anything needing same day access to the city.
Is it big enough for a large conference?
Not above 140 in one room. Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre’s Riverside Theatre takes 2,500 theatre and Crown Perth’s Grand Ballroom 1,500.

Sources, photography and how we work
Capacities read from the venue’s own published material on 5 September 2026. Comparison figures read from each named venue’s own published material on the same date.
We do not see every room on every visit. Where we were not in a room, its figures come from the venue's own chart rather than from us. We do not rate or score venues and we do not publish rates.
Our service is free to you. We are independent of every venue we put forward, no venue is favoured, and your interests come first.
