Inspected by CVBS
A 184 room hotel over 18 levels on Murray Street in the east end of the CBD. The Murray Room is 246 square metres, takes 170 theatre and divides into four. Two more rooms sit beside it, and the rooftop holds 200 for drinks.
What it suits
Good for
- Conferences to 150 that want the whole conference floor to themselves
- A plenary with four breakouts on the same level
- Board meetings and executive sessions to 14
- Residential programs where delegates sleep upstairs
- Closing drinks for 200 on the rooftop
Look elsewhere for
- Plenaries above 170 in one room
- Trade exhibitions
- Room blocks above 184
- Programs that need a published ceiling height before rigging anything
Accommodation
184 rooms over 18 levels directly above the conference floor, so a residential program runs without anyone leaving the building. QT publishes no room sizes or rate bands.
If you need the beds without the ballroom, that is a normal brief and we run it on its own. See group accommodation for how a room block is held, and corporate accommodation for an ongoing rate program.
The rest of the building
Restaurants, bars and public areas.

Where these figures come from, and why a dash is not a zero
A dash means QT publishes no figure for that setup. It does not mean the room cannot be set that way, only that we will not print a number the venue has not published.
Every figure is read from QT's own meetings and events capacity table, checked 7 September 2026. Never estimated, never taken from a directory.
Where a venue’s own sources carry different figures, we use the current one and confirm it with the venue before it reaches a shortlist.

Bigger rooms in Perth
Above 170 theatre in one room, Perth means the convention centre or one of the large CBD hotels. Each figure below is read from that venue’s own published material. This is not a survey of the whole Perth market, only the rooms we checked to make sure nothing on this page overstates the building.
| QT Perth, the Murray Room | 170 theatre, 120 banquet |
|---|---|
| Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, Riverside Theatre | 2,500 theatre |
| Crown Perth, Grand Ballroom | 2,000 theatre |
| Optus Stadium | Multiple function rooms, largest 1,000 theatre |
Recent changes
QT’s own two sources count the rooms differently, and they reconcile. The meetings page says twelve venues and lists them. The fact sheet says six conference rooms. Four Murray sections plus Lucy Mame plus Juggernaut is exactly six. The twelve is the marketing count including the bars, the restaurant and the rooftop. We publish six.
The restaurant carries an operator brand. The signature restaurant and its semi private dining room trade under a brand name rather than the hotel’s. Brands move. We name the rooftop and the conference rooms and leave the restaurant spaces out of the capacity table for that reason.

Questions organisers ask
What size event can it hold?
The Murray Room is 246 square metres and takes 170 theatre, 120 banquet, 200 cocktail, 54 classroom and 78 cabaret. It divides into four sections, so a plenary and its breakouts sit on one floor.
How many conference rooms are there?
Six. The Murray Room divides into four, and Lucy Mame and Juggernaut are the other two. QT’s website says twelve venues, but that count includes the bars, the restaurant and the rooftop.
Is there a boardroom?
Two. Juggernaut is 56 square metres and seats 12 boardroom. Lucy Mame is 68 square metres and seats 14 boardroom or 16 u-shape, and it is the only room here with a published u-shape figure.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, 184 rooms over 18 levels above the conference floor, so a residential program does not have to move.
What about the rooftop?
The rooftop holds 200 for a cocktail function. QT does not publish whether it can be hired exclusively or what the wet weather plan is, so both are worth asking.

Sources, photography and how we work
Capacities read from the venue’s own published material on 7 September 2026. Comparison figures read from each named venue’s own published material on the same date.
We do not see every room on every visit. Where we were not in a room, its figures come from the venue's own chart rather than from us. We do not rate or score venues and we do not publish rates.
Our service is free to you. We are independent of every venue we put forward, no venue is favoured, and your interests come first.
