The EVE Hotel Sydney
Hotel8 Baptist Street, Redfern NSW 2016
- 14Boardroom
- 102Rooms
- 1Event space
- 300Next door
Inspected by CVBS
A 102 room hotel in the Wunderlich Lane precinct at Redfern, built for accommodation and small executive meetings rather than conferences. The only space the hotel runs itself is a rooftop boardroom for fourteen. A group needing more room uses Saltbox in the same laneway.
What it suits
Good for
- Board offsites and executive meetings to 14 with rooms attached
- The accommodation half of a program running its plenary elsewhere
- Small residential groups wanting Redfern rather than the CBD
- A hotel a few steps from a 300 theatre room next door
Look elsewhere for
- Any conference, plenary or breakout program
- Anything above 14 people in one room the hotel runs
- Dinners depending on the hotel restaurants until the new operators open
- Gala dinners and awards nights
Accommodation
102 rooms in the Wunderlich Lane precinct at Redfern, which is what this hotel is actually for. Close to Redfern station and about ten minutes from the CBD.
If you need the beds without the ballroom, that is a normal brief and we run it on its own. See group accommodation for how a room block is held, and corporate accommodation for an ongoing rate program.

Where these figures come from, and why a dash is not a zero
A dash means the hotel publishes no figure for that setup. It does not mean the room cannot be set that way, only that we will not print a number the venue has not published.
Every figure is read from the hotel's own functions and events page, checked 7 September 2026. Never estimated, never taken from a directory.
Where a venue’s own sources carry different figures, we use the current one and confirm it with the venue before it reaches a shortlist.

Bigger rooms in Sydney
Fourteen is the ceiling here, so anything with a delegate list goes next door or into town. Each figure below is read from that venue’s own published material. This is not a survey of the whole Sydney market, only the rooms we checked to make sure nothing on this page overstates the building.
| The EVE Hotel Sydney, the rooftop boardroom | 14 boardroom |
|---|---|
| Saltbox, The Box | 300 theatre, 240 banquet, 330 sqm pillarless |
| Hilton Sydney, Grand Ballroom | 1,100 theatre, 500 banquet |
| ICC Sydney, Grand Ballroom | 2,784 theatre, 2,000 banquet |
Recent changes
Both restaurants changed operator in August 2026. Lottie closed on 23 August 2026 and Bar Julius on 26 August. The Apollo Group has taken the leases and two new restaurants are due before the end of the year. The concepts have not been announced. Anything quoting either name is out of date.
The published rooftop capacity was wrong and has been corrected. An earlier version of this record carried an exclusive hire capacity for the rooftop that stopped being true when the operators changed, and named the rooftop as the main space when the only figure on the record belonged to the boardroom. Both are fixed.

Questions organisers ask
What size event can it hold?
Fourteen. The only space the hotel runs and publishes a number for is a rooftop boardroom for fourteen. It is not a conference venue and the honest answer is to say so.
What about the restaurants?
Both venues changed hands in August 2026. Lottie closed on 23 August and Bar Julius on 26 August, with The Apollo Group taking the leases and two new restaurants due before the end of the year. The concepts have not been announced, so there is nothing to book against yet.
Where does a bigger group go?
Saltbox, in the same laneway at 399 Cleveland Street, which publishes 300 theatre and 300 cocktail in a pillarless 330 square metre room. Different owner and a different address, so it is a separate venue that happens to be a few steps away.
Is there accommodation on site?
Yes, 102 rooms in the Wunderlich Lane precinct at Redfern. That is what the hotel is for.
So why is it on this list?
Because a board offsite for twelve with rooms attached is a real brief, and because knowing a venue is too small is worth as much as knowing one is big enough. It saves a site inspection.

Sources, photography and how we work
Capacities read from the venue’s own published material on 7 September 2026. Comparison figures read from each named venue’s own published material on the same date.
We do not see every room on every visit. Where we were not in a room, its figures come from the venue's own chart rather than from us. We do not rate or score venues and we do not publish rates.
Our service is free to you. We are independent of every venue we put forward, no venue is favoured, and your interests come first.
